Janet Munro finds her purpose in life is to connect and help people in her community. After raising her own 3 children and having a very successful career in sales, Janet found herself stepping into a supportive role with another 5 children who had lost their mother.
Witnessing the desire of many senior loved ones to stay in the comfort of their own homes despite all types of challenges, Janet is a true believer that the ability to ‘retire at home’ should be available for all seniors in the Calgary area. Her passion and desire to deliver a quality service is apparent through her dedication and commitment to the community around her.
Leslie Munro, RN
Director of Client Care
Leslie Munro has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years. With a passion for serving seniors at home, she began her career as a home health care nurse with Alberta Health Services. Five years later, she moved into a hospital setting working in Day Surgery where she worked closely with multidisciplinary health care team to provide quality patient care and appropriate discharge patients with many complex problems.
Leslie is pleased to now come back to the home care setting. Her compassion and desire to work intimately with seniors and their families in a loving and nurturing environment is “why I became a nurse in the first place”. A mother of 2 boys, Leslie is active in many sports and participates in many community events and is looking forward to serving many seniors in the Calgary region.
Reg Munro
Executive Director
Reg began working for a large retail food chain at the age of 14 and progressed to a buyer for the same company after getting his business degree. He has always been keen on business and delivering strong customer service to his clients. Reg continued his entrepreneurial passion by buying and renovating homes. His ability to build a strong work environment, through team motivation has always been a key to his business success.
Reg brings his years of operational experience to Retire-At-Home ensuring that all facets of the business operate smoothly and that customer satisfaction is maintained as a top priority. He is also very handy at fixing things, big and small, and is looking forward to serving his senior clients with all aspects of the home environment.
Genese Carnakie, RN
Home Health Liaison
Genese Carnakie has been a registered nurse for over 14 years. During this time she has witnessed the many challenges faced by seniors and their families in Calgary. Genese has always been driven by a passion to serve others and give quality care. She has dreamed of owning her own business where she can give extraordinary service to people and take the extra time to personalize the health care services she provides.
Genese sees Retire-At-Home Services as perfect fit for her personal convictions of quality care and developing strong community partnerships. She is excited to serve Calgary area seniors with quality in home care and helping families with the challenges they face in caring for their loved ones.
Laverne Brown
Executive Director
When Laverne Brown first immigrated to Canada in 1988 she pursued training as a certified nurse’s attendant. She went on to work for 4 years providing quality personal and palliative care for seniors and patients with a variety of critical care needs. From these experiences, and from helping her own mother through challenging times, she discovered her passion for providing personalized health care to seniors at home by enhancing their overall quality of life. Laverne also has a degree in Engineering and has pursued a successful career in this field as well.
